Steph Curry MasterClass Student Engagement and Retention

Steph Curry teaches everything as if he understands the struggles of beginner and intermediate players. The instructions he gives throughout the lessons are crystal clear. I never found myself not understanding a particular move or drill concept. The shooting exercises he recommended were simple and effective.

However, the drills for offensive positioning and creating space from defenders required me to watch multiple times. It takes more than one to visualize opponents and create practice routines.

As I mentioned, it’s best to focus on one technique for the day or the week and follow along. Otherwise, you might forget what’s taught in the Steph Curry’s Masterclass by the time you get to the court.

My Personal Experience With Steph Curry MasterClass

Things I Liked About the Steph Curry MasterClass

Clear instructions

Steph Curry gives crystal clear instructions throughout his MasterClass. I never once felt overwhelmed by the instructions. He visualizes everything with the ball and a defender. Steph also shows how you can use a chair to get practice done by yourself.

Useful practice tips

Whether Steph teaches shooting or provides insights into different techniques, he shows ways to mix them into your daily practice routine. The tips throughout Steph Curry’s Masterclass included repetition numbers and various sequences.

Learning at your pace

Steph Curry takes a technique and breaks it down into individual steps. You can then learn and practice at your own pace. For example, you learn the fundamentals of handling a ball before dribbling or protecting it from a defender. In a way, there aren’t any prerequisites to learn shooting or other skills.

Class Guide

The 54-page class guide has everything mentioned in the lessons. It includes workout plans, images for visualization, and recaps. The class guide was an excellent resource to study before starting practice and during recovery.

Things I Didn’t Like About the Steph Curry MasterClass

Catered to beginners

Steph Curry’s basketball course is more for beginners and intermediate players. There isn’t much taught for advanced players. It misses out on advanced tips for those playing competitively. If you’re already in a team, it can give some insights into a few techniques but don’t expect game-changer advice.

Focuses only on offense

As good as it might be to learn from Steph Curry, the course skips defending. Although Steph Curry isn’t a defender, I would be more impressed with his Steph Curry’s MasterClass if he touched on a few defense concepts.
